1. 

   2006–2013

   Padlock mark

   AgileBits launched 1Password in 2006 under the name Agile Keychain, and the original icon used a literal padlock rendered in a glossy skeuomorphic style common to early Mac OS X software. The mark leaned on Apple's design conventions of the era, with a metallic sheen and drop shadow.

2. 

   2013–2017

   Flat keyhole

   A 2013 redesign replaced the glossy padlock with a flatter, more abstract keyhole mark as part of a broader shift to iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks aesthetics. The new icon used a simplified geometric form and moved away from the skeuomorphic treatment that had defined the earlier version.

3. 

   2017–2023

   Wordmark with keyhole

   AgileBits paired the evolved keyhole symbol with a custom wordmark in 2017, establishing a full logotype for the first time. The combination of the purple keyhole mark and clean sans-serif text reflected the company's push into enterprise and cross-platform markets.

4. 

   2023–present · current

   Refreshed wordmark

   On April 20, 2023, 1Password unveiled a refined brand identity with an updated wordmark and adjusted color palette. The revision tightened the logotype proportions and modernized the keyhole mark while maintaining continuity with the established purple brand color.
