Acoustic arc
Audible launched in 1995 with a wordmark using ascending uppercase letters paired with an arc beneath, evoking both a sound wave and an ear. The letterforms grew progressively larger from left to right, a visual metaphor for amplification.
1998–2002
Zigzag wave
A jagged waveform replaced the arc as Audible moved to a lowercase sans-serif wordmark and appended ".com" to the name. The palette shifted to blue and olive, and the spiky line diagram referenced the kind of audio waveform displays common in early digital audio software.
2002–2010
Text-only green
The graphic wave element was dropped entirely, leaving a standalone wordmark in a saturated neon green. The name alone was trusted to carry the audio association, reflecting broader early-2000s trends toward clean typographic marks in tech.

Book-wave icon
A new symbol appeared alongside the wordmark: a stylized open book whose pages double as ascending sound-wave curves, rendered in a tricolor palette of yellow, red, and dark purple. The bolder, wider type represented a more confident market position as Audible expanded globally following its 2008 acquisition by Amazon.

Amazon orange mark
The palette consolidated to black and Amazon orange, with three concentric curves forming the brand icon. Adding an "an amazon company" byline made the corporate relationship explicit, while the simplified two-color system enabled consistent application across app icons and global marketing.
