1919–1931
Winged B, serif
Founded in 1919 by W.O. Bentley, the marque adopted a winged badge built around the letter B, a device the company carried forward without interruption. The original form used a serif letterform and relatively compact wings, matching the hand-drawn character of early coachbuilt automobiles.
1931–1991
Classic winged B
Following the Rolls-Royce acquisition in 1931, the badge was refined into a more symmetrical form that became the definitive Bentley mark for six decades. The double-B monogram sits within a spread of stylized wings, rendered consistently across cars, stationery, and dealer signage.

1991–2002

The change coincided with the brand's efforts to distinguish itself more clearly from Rolls-Royce ahead of the eventual ownership split.

2002–2025
Volkswagen-era badge
After Volkswagen Group took ownership in 1998, Bentley updated the badge in 2002 with deeper relief, richer gradients, and a more dimensional rendering suited to contemporary automotive branding. The wordmark treatment and wing geometry were brought into closer alignment with the Continental GT's launch.
2025–present · current
Flat badge
The 2025 update flattened the badge, removing the chrome gradients and dimensional shading that had defined the mark since 2002. The simplified form reflects a broader industry shift toward graphics that reproduce consistently across digital interfaces and vehicle surfaces.
