1963–1972
Founding mark
The original emblem, introduced when the Sant'Agata factory opened in 1963, placed a charging black bull on a red shield with script lettering below. Ferruccio Lamborghini drew the bull motif from his Taurus birth sign and a Bolognese expression he used to describe his own tenacity.
1974–1998
Monochrome shield
A simplified black-and-white version of the shield replaced the short-lived 1972 variant and remained through the brand's most turbulent years, including the 1987 Chrysler acquisition. The gold palette was stripped away, leaving a stark monochrome mark that outlasted three different ownership regimes.

The bull gained three-dimensional shading and the wordmark moved back inside the shield, marking a period of financial stability and production growth under German stewardship.

Flat refinement
Unveiled on March 28, 2024, the updated mark was developed by Strichpunkt with Lamborghini Centro Stile, flattening the three-dimensional bull into a cleaner, two-dimensional form. A bespoke variable typeface called Lambotype, drawn by Character Type from the logo's original lettering, replaced the previous wordmark across all brand applications.
