Launch wordmark
Pinterest launched in March 2010 with a cursive wordmark set in Bello Script, rendered in black lettering with a light blue drop shadow and wide white outline. The layered, decorative treatment was short-lived, replaced within a year as the brand sought a more distinctive visual identity.

Custom script
Designed by Juan Carlos Pagan and Mike Deal
Designers Juan Carlos Pagan and Mike Deal created a fully custom script wordmark in red, with letters connected at the baseline and a P badge featuring a white letterform whose descender tapers into a pushpin needle. The logotype earned a Certificate of Excellence from the Type Directors Club in 2012.

Sans-serif wordmark
The script wordmark was retired in 2017 in favor of Neue Haas Grotesk Display Black, with targeted modifications including a round tittle on the i, a redrawn s, and a narrowed P. The badge remained unchanged, placed beside the new geometric wordmark to maintain continuity with the existing brand mark.

Pinterest Sans
British studio Made Thought led a full brand overhaul in 2021, commissioning a custom typeface called Pinterest Sans from Swiss foundry Grilli Type. The identity moved away from a fixed color palette toward one derived dynamically from content, and the P badge retained its red pin form while the wordmark shifted to the bespoke sans-serif.
