1898–1940
Original script
Pepsi-Cola opened in 1898 under a thin, energetic red script that owed an obvious debt to its older rival. The long tails and curls leaned on the same Spencerian fashion.
1950–1962
Bottle cap
Through the 1940s and 50s Pepsi tucked its script inside a bottle cap, trading flourish for a badge that read fast on a cooler. The red and blue became permanent here.
1962–1991
The globe
In 1962 the script was dropped for a bold sans-serif, and the cap flattened into the red, white, and blue disc that became the Pepsi globe. The change tracked the youth-focused Pepsi Generation campaign.
2008–2023
Arnell smile
Designed by Arnell Group
The Arnell Group tilted the globe's white band into a smile and set the name in lowercase. A leaked 27-page rationale tying the shape to the golden ratio and gravitational fields turned the redesign into a punchline.

Pulse
Designed by PepsiCo Design & Innovation
Pepsi's 2023 rebrand pulled the wordmark back inside the globe and added black borrowed from its zero-sugar line. The bolder, electric look reads as a deliberate callback to the marks of the 1970s and 80s.
