1960–1961
Original oil derrick
Bud Adams founded the Houston Oilers as a charter member of the American Football League in 1960, and the club adopted a white oil derrick silhouette as its primary mark. The image referenced the Texas petroleum industry directly and appeared on the side of Columbia blue helmets from the team's first season.

1962–1968
Gray-ground derrick
The derrick motif was reworked with a gray background and a stylized oil worker figure added to the composition. The revision gave the mark more visual weight and made it read more clearly on television broadcasts, which were becoming the primary way fans encountered team identities.

1972–1979
Outlined derrick
A 1972 refresh introduced a blue outline around a red derrick contained within double white and blue borders. The bolder, higher-contrast treatment aligned with a broader trend in professional sports toward more legible helmet graphics during the decade.
1980–1998
Sky-blue derrick
The mark that defined the Houston Oilers era in popular memory replaced the red derrick with a sky-blue version on a white field. This version remained on helmets and merchandise through the franchise's relocation to Tennessee in 1997 and its final season as the Tennessee Oilers in 1998.
1999–2025
Titans sword-T
Owner Bud Adams announced the new name on November 14, 1998, and the Titans logo was unveiled at Centennial Park in Nashville on December 22, 1998. The mark featured a beveled, sword-like "T" set within a roundel, with three stars from the Tennessee state flag and navy, light blue, and red flame elements trailing behind.

Rebrand T-in-galaxy
The franchise unveiled a full rebrand on March 12, 2026 at a private event in Nashville, replacing the 27-year-old fireball mark with a cleaner "T" surrounded by three stars on a blue field within white and red circles. Guitar-string stripes on the helmet and jersey reference Nashville's identity as a music center.
