2005–2007
Launch wordmark
The founding wordmark placed a bold orange "T" inside a solid blue circle, followed by the remaining letters in a mix of colors. Three distinct color groupings, tri, va, and go, reflected the brand name's syllabic structure from the outset.

2007–2013
Playful tri-color
The circular emblem was dropped in favor of a single-line wordmark set in a modified Tahoma Bold. Overlapping letterforms in three colors, blue, yellow, and red, gave the mark an informal, energetic quality suited to the company's early growth phase.
2013–2015
Avenir refresh
A December 2013 update replaced the irregular letterforms with a cleaner wordmark set in a modified Avenir Black. The three-color concept was retained, but the treatment became more considered, with a square dot above the "i" distinguishing the custom cut.

In-house refinement
Trivago's in-house team produced an incremental October 2015 update that tightened spacing and refined the Avenir Black-based wordmark. The three-color palette persisted, but the overall mark became more polished for the company's expanding international television presence.

DesignStudio rebrand
Designed by DesignStudio
London agency DesignStudio unveiled a full identity overhaul in December 2023, replacing the long-running tri-color wordmark with a custom logotype set in a purpose-built typeface called Savvy Grotesk. A new monogram integrates a checkmark and smile into the lowercase "t", and a mascot character named Hank provides a recurring illustration device across brand communications.
