1958–1974
Founding wordmark
Pizza Hut opened its first location in Wichita, Kansas on May 31, 1958, and adopted a simple hand-lettered wordmark. The rooftop silhouette that would define the brand for decades had not yet appeared, and signage at early restaurants used plain typography.
1974–1999
Red roof
Designed by Lippincott & Margulies
Introduced August 15, 1974, this mark by Lippincott & Margulies placed the chain's distinctive peaked red roof above the wordmark for the first time, giving the fast-food brand a symbol that could work as signage, packaging, and advertising simultaneously. The roof became so closely associated with the company that the identity persisted for 25 years.

Designed by Landor Associates
Landor Associates redesigned the identity in 1999, replacing the angular geometric letterforms with a flowing script and adding a yellow underline. A green dot replaced the tittle on the letter 'i' in Pizza, a detail that persisted at many locations through the mid-2010s.
2014–2025
Brushstroke circle
Designed by Deutsch LA
On November 19, 2014, Deutsch LA unveiled a mark that placed the roof emblem in white inside a red circle drawn to suggest a brushstroke or spread of tomato sauce. The redesign accompanied a full menu overhaul and restaurant remodel program intended to broaden the brand beyond its traditional dine-in format.

Italicized red roof
Debuting July 16, 2025 on Pizza Hut UK's social media, this update returns to the 1974 red roof structure but draws it in a leaned, italicized form. The global rollout under the 'Feed Good Times' campaign marked the first worldwide rebrand since 2014.
