Mattel Creations
The founding wordmark read 'Mattel Creations' in rounded letterforms, reflecting the company's origins as a picture-frame maker that had pivoted to toys. No seal or graphic device accompanied the name at this stage.

Designed by Carson & Roberts

1969–2019
Red seal
A 1969 redesign replaced the black seal with scarlet red and removed the mascot entirely, leaving a white diagonal wordmark as the sole element within the circle. This version persisted for fifty years and remains on store signage and product packaging in many markets.

Refined seal
The 2019 update reduced the number of points on the sun seal and refined the wordmark's letterfit, producing a cleaner silhouette at small sizes and on screen. The red and white palette was retained, preserving continuity with the half-century-old mark.
