1977–1995
Founding wordmark
The early mark used by the company combined a simple typographic treatment with an umbrella or sun graphic, reflecting the weather-data subscription business founded by Joel N. Myers in 1962. The design served an enterprise audience of broadcasters and government agencies rather than consumers.
1995–2000
Internet-era wordmark
As AccuWeather expanded onto the early web, the mark shifted to a cleaner horizontal wordmark pairing the company name with a stylized sun. The 1995 design began appearing as the primary logo in 1998, ahead of the company's push into consumer digital services.

The orange and blue palette became the brand's recognized color signature throughout this period.
2013–2019
Digital sun system
Introduced in April 2013, this identity replaced the gradient emblem with a flat, geometric sun mark and set the wordmark in warm orange, chosen after international color research to suggest warmth and trust. The clean lines were designed to scale across smartphone apps and digital displays.

Solis rebrand
Designed by Loyalkaspar
New York studio Loyalkaspar redesigned the identity in 2019, commissioning a custom typeface called Solis from Laura Meseguer Studio, a six-weight sans-serif family built specifically for the rebrand. The system launched alongside a redesigned app in 2020, with the sun emblem redrawn to work as a standalone app icon across small screens.
