1919–1938
Founding wordmark
Halliburton Oil Well Cementing Company adopted a plain typographic wordmark when Erle P. Halliburton incorporated the business in 1919. The lettering reflected common commercial sign-painting conventions of the era, with no abstract symbol.

1946–1954
Postwar serif
A bolder serif wordmark replaced the earlier lettering after World War II, as Halliburton expanded its cementing and well-completion services internationally. The thicker strokes gave the name more visual weight in print advertising and technical documentation.

1954–1993
Diamond H mark
The 1954 identity introduced a geometric diamond enclosing a stylized H, marking Halliburton's first use of a standalone symbol alongside the wordmark. This mark remained in use for nearly four decades across an era of major corporate acquisitions and global expansion.

Rounded H mark
The 1997 update softened the diamond into a rounded red shape, coinciding with the company's merger with Dresser Industries to form one of the world's largest oilfield services firms. The wordmark was set in a cleaner sans-serif, shifting the identity toward a more corporate register.

Red H logotype
Introduced in 2002 following the spin-off of KBR and other restructuring, this identity pairs a bold red H symbol with the company name in a dark sans-serif wordmark. The cleaner system has remained consistent as Halliburton refocused on oilfield services.
