History
1983–1995
Lucky-GoldStar
The 1983 merger of Lucky and GoldStar under one corporate roof produced a combined logotype set in Helvetica Condensed, pairing a stylized "L" from Lucky with a crown motif drawn from GoldStar. The mark made visible the two founding divisions without collapsing either identity into the other.
1995–2008
LG Face
Designed by Michael Collins / Landor Associates
Launched on January 4, 1995, the new mark replaced "Lucky-GoldStar" with the initials LG, arranged inside a red circle to suggest a human face. Michael Collins at Landor Associates designed the emblem, which used Helvetica Black for the wordmark and signaled the company's intent to compete directly with Samsung on the global stage.
