1981–1989
Sagesoft
Founded in 1981 as Sage Software, the company's earliest mark used a plain wordmark under the "Sagesoft" name. The lettering was set in a straightforward serif-influenced style typical of software companies of the early 1980s.

1989–1996
Block letters
The 1989 redesign enclosed each letter in a square block, a change that coincided with Sage's listing on the London Stock Exchange. The underlying typeface carried over from the earlier wordmark, but the new enclosures gave the mark a bolder, more institutional presence.
1996–2015
Condensed DIN
A DIN-derived typeface replaced the blocked lettering in 1996, set with very tight tracking that caused adjacent characters to visually merge. The letterforms were also vertically compressed relative to standard DIN proportions, giving the wordmark a compact, industrial quality.

Spaced DIN
The 2015 update kept the DIN-derived typeface but relaxed the extreme letter-spacing of the previous version, making the wordmark more legible at smaller sizes. The green color palette was retained, signaling continuity rather than a full rebrand.
