Loewy Eagle
Designed by Raymond Loewy / William Snaith, Inc.
Raymond Loewy's firm designed this silhouetted eagle for the newly reorganized Postal Service, replacing a nineteenth-century equestrian seal. The forward-leaning bird over the words "U.S. Mail" emphasized speed at a time when airmail dominated long-distance delivery.

Service Logotype
Introduced alongside the launch of Priority Mail and Express Mail in 1989, this mark added a full "United States Postal Service" wordmark beneath a revised eagle. The design coordinated the agency's identity across a broader range of commercial products for the first time.

Designed by CYB Yasumura Design
CYB Yasumura Design, a subsidiary of Young and Rubicam, selected the "sonic eagle" from roughly 300 concepts. The abstracted, aerodynamic eagle head replaced the earlier illustrative bird and has been the agency's primary corporate mark ever since.

250th Anniversary Mark
Designed by Turner Duckworth
Turner Duckworth created this commemorative "Eagle in Flight" symbol for the postal service's 250th anniversary, unveiled April 25, 2025. The perched eagle atop the "USPS 250" text draws on the agency's red, white, and blue palette to mark the milestone year.
